About Vulcan Speech Group
Vulcan Speech Group is a division of Vulcan Psychology Group. We originally opened in 2016 and have recently expanded to add another speech-language pathologist to our practice. We collaborate regularly with the psychologists in our group to provide an interdisciplinary approach to interventions for our patients. We also see patients who are not under the care of our psychologists or other healthcare professionals.
Our Mission
At Vulcan Speech Group we are committed to providing evidence-based speech, language, and feeding therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults with a wide variety of communication and feeding challenges. We believe in a therapy approach that relies on family involvement and collaboration with other professionals. We also recognize that every patient we work with is unique and promise that our interventions will always be individualized.
Our Specialties
We specialize in working with patients with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorders, neurological impairments, pragmatic language disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, fluency disorders, sensory feeding disorders, phonological disorders, voice disorders, Selective Mutism, and a variety of genetic syndromes. We also work with typically developing children with articulation and language delays.
Highly trained speech and language pathologists
Each of our speech-language pathologists has a masters degree as well as a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. We are each licensed to practice by the Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology as well. We are constantly expanding our specialties with continuing education courses so we can better serve our patients' needs.
